Ne-Yo, Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Gail Devers to Jump Start National Day for Kids in Atlanta

Boys and Girls Club Day for Kids

R&B crooner Ne-Yo will join Olympic track & field legends Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Gail Devers Saturday in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park for National Day for Kids, an event to raise money and awareness for Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).

National Day for Kids is a day dedicated to having fun with a child in your life and to bring a national spotlight to BGCA. Atlanta will host the national kick-off event. Additional events will be held in Los Angeles, New York City and Dallas throughout the month.

“Research shows that when adults spend meaningful time with children it helps them develop a positive self-image, sense of belonging and purpose,” said a statement from Boys & Girls Club of America.

The Day for Kids is the kickoff of the BGCA’s efforts to celebrate and honor children throughout the month of September through the gift of meaningful time.

Lunchables, who has partnered with BGCA for the event, has pledged a donation of $200,000 per year over the next five years, up to $1 million, to support the organization.

In addition to a chance to meet Ne-Yo, Joyner-Kersee and Devers, attendees will get to sample Lunchables and Oscar Mayer fare and enjoy games and activities. Kids can also access the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

The event will take place Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Oak Hill, Piedmont Park, 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive
Atlanta, Ga., 30309
