Le Petit Chef Comes To Atlanta As Animation Meets Fine Dining

The Grand Hyatt Atlanta recently hosted an exclusive preview of the Le Petit Chef at Cassis Restaurant. Internationally acclaimed, the immersive 3D experience has made its way to Atlanta as animation-meets-fine-dining.

Once seated, lights are dim, and suddenly, the white linen tablecloth transforms into a stage. Then enters Le Petit Chef — all 2.3 inches of him — bustling across the table in dazzling 3D projection. He’s tiny, and hilariously clumsy, with each course prefaced by a mini show in which he attempts to cook the meal you’re about to be served. Spoiler: it usually involves fire, flour explosions, or rogue seafood. But just when it seems all hope is lost, the real chefs at Cassis swoop in to rescue the dish — both on-screen and in real life.

The Grand Menu — kicked off with a fresh buffalo mozzarella starter that was clean, cool, and elegantly simple. Next came the Saffron Seafood Cioppino, a fragrant and rich dish swimming with Georgia Coast Grouper, Savannah Shrimp, and Blue Crab. It was a loving tribute to the local seafood scene, and a favorite course of the night.

The first main dish included Chicken Ballotine with Celeriac Puree and Black Truffle Crema, was beautifully composed and deeply flavorful. Following that was a tender Roasted Beef Tenderloin with heirloom glazed carrots and delicate potato dauphinoise — the kind of dish that makes you lean back in your chair and sigh happily.

Dessert was a playful nod to the South: Georgia Peach Crème Brûlée. The caramelized sugar crust shattered perfectly under my spoon, revealing a silky, peach-kissed custard that felt both comforting and elevated.

Le Petit Chef isn’t just dinner. It’s an experience of food and theater.
