On Monday, Solicitor Lisamarie Bristol formally announced her campaign to seek another term as Gwinnett County Solicitor-General.
“One of the many reasons I ran for Solicitor-General was to build a safer, more compassionate Gwinnett. In my first term as Solicitor-General, my team and I laid the groundwork to deliver real and meaningful criminal justice reforms that disrupts the cycle of crime and creates a more fair and equitable system.”
“From launching the jail court pilot program to ease the burden on jail staff and facilities, providing increased support for crime victims by elevating staff training and creating a Special Victims Unit to address more complex crimes, to expanding diversion programs to help those that need a second chance and better prioritize resources needed for the most serious cases–we’ve done a lot in just two years. But we’re not done yet.”
“I’m proud to say that I’ve delivered on the things I said that I would do. Moreover, crime is down in Gwinnett County across all categories.”
“Gwinnett, I’m running for re-election. And I’m asking you, the voters, for a second term so that we may continue the work to keep Gwinnett safe–to help people get off the hamster wheel of recidivism, eliminate the procedural hurdles that ripen the conditions for case backlogs, and more efficiently direct resources towards addressing the most serious crimes. Together, we can make justice real for everyone. And we can continue to make Gwinnett the safe and thriving community that it is–the premier destination to live, work, play, and visit.”
Solicitor Bristol will mark the launch of her re-election campaign with an event hosted at the Law Offices of Andrew, Merritt, Reilly & Smith, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 6:00PM.
