Commissioner Ted Terry (D-Super District 6) will host the DeKalb Green New Deal Festival: Concert for Climate Justice in partnership with JFly Music Group on Saturday, April 5, 2025 beginning at 4 p.m. at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center, 3181 Rainbow Dr, Decatur, GA 30034.

The DeKalb Green New Deal is Commissioner Terry’s people-powered, holistic approach to the dual challenges of our time: income inequality and environmental injustice. This festival is an opportunity for DeKalb County residents to get involved in the DeKalb Green New Deal, learn about the county’s sustainability initiatives, connect with community, and ultimately walk away with hope for a more sustainable and equitable future.

“I know many of us are grappling with the proposed federal government cutbacks, wondering what lies ahead for our nation and our planet. But I want to say this loud and clear: we will not lose hope,” said Commissioner Terry. “Here in DeKalb, we remain committed to our values and identifying creative ways to fuse environmental justice, equal access to resources, and robust economic opportunities to create a more just and thriving society – that’s what we’re uniting for.”

“I am excited to highlight a variety of artists that span multiples genres such as R&B, Gospel, Funk, and Blues. These artists carry unique stories, sounds, and backgrounds- mirroring DeKalb County,” said JFly. “Music has a unique ability to inspire and bring people together. Just as these artists collaborate to deliver a powerful performance, we come together with a shared commitment to building a more just and equitable future.”

The DeKalb Green New Deal Festival: Concert for Climate Justice is also in partnership with District 1 Commissioner Robert Patrick, District 2 Commissioner Michelle Long Spears, District 4 Commissioner Chakira Johnson, District 5 Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson, and Super District 7 Commissioner LaDena Bolton.
