
The WJCS Mary J. Blige Center for Women and Girls offers four different programs to benefit women and girls in the areas of early childhood development, parenting, after-school support and academic and job readiness. Participants gain skills, knowledge and resources that empower them to pursue personal goals and become self-sufficient, confident women.
Academic and Career Support Program provides instruction for adult basic education and preparation for the new high school equivalency exam and job-readiness.
Building Better Beginnings is a mental health consultation program for pre-school children, parents and daycare center staff to promote children’s healthy emotional development.
Infant-Toddler Learning Center is designed to foster healthy relationships between parents and their children and promotes learning through play, songs and gross motor activities.
Wiener Academy for Young Women comprises three components: an after-school program for girls in grades 4 – 8, a girls’ leadership and empowerment workshop
series in local schools and a summer learning program.
