elegant tradition started by CSPH in 1963 to raise awareness about and funds for the historic orphanage
and its commitment to care for and develop future leaders and prepare them to reach their highest
potential.
“Without highly committed agencies and devoted care givers like those at CSPH, individual like me would
never know that they can pursue their dreams,” said Rowell. “I encourage the Atlanta community to
support Carrie Steele-Pitts Home because it has cared for nearly 27,000 souls who needed someone to
love and guide them.”
“This year marks the 129th year that Carrie Steele-Pitts Home has been providing a home for our
community’s most vulnerable children,” said Dr. Evelyn Lavizzo, executive director, CSPH. “We welcome
the support of the Atlanta community to help make a difference in the lives of youth who live in foster
care at Carrie Steele-Pitts Home. Let’s celebrate the beginning of spring with family and friends as we
work together to continue our mission of providing a safe, warm place for youth who are already world
