Members of the Youth HIV Policy Advisors’ Program– a program of Georgia Equality- will educate Metro Atlanta elected officials at the 3rd annual World AIDS Day-Atlanta Policy & Action Luncheon on November 30, 2016. This luncheon, led and facilitated entirely by young people living with HIV, will showcase up–to-date research and personal stories to highlight the need for leadership to address root causes of Atlanta’s growing HIV epidemic.

The Youth HIV Policy Advisors’ Program
Formed in response to high and increasing HIV rates among youth in Atlanta, The Youth HIV Policy Advisors Program matches youth living with HIV one-on-one with elected officials to address Atlanta’s high and rising rates of HIV among many groups of young people in our city. Young participants will serve as Youth HIV Policy Advisors to selected Atlanta leaders as they cultivate an understanding of this major public health issue. The program aims to create HIV prevention and care champions in Atlanta City Council, the Georgia General Assembly and among local faith-based and business leaders.
