Former MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry will be joining the BET news team as a special correspondent.
In her new role, Harris-Perry will develop ideas for its various news-related program and create specials for the network, reports Deadline.com. she left MSNBC in March after her show was pre-empted multiple times for election coverage.
One of the former weekend host’s fist projects will be providing commentary for the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, co-anchoring with BET’s Marc Lamont Hill. The network will air an hourlong recap of the convention, highlighting key points and interviews with celebrities and newsmakers.
