One of the greatest, most versatile and beloved musicians in American history is going to perform at the Fox Theatre on April 7.

Prince, a seven-time Grammy Award winner, and the sole author of such classics as Purple Rain, 1999, Controversy and Sign o the Times, will play two exclusive shows on that date.

Moreover, Prince is bringing his Piano & A Microphone tour, Rival Entertainment reported.

“The repertoire will be culled from Prince’s vast 39- album catalogue and each performance will have a unique set-list that evolves in real time, song-to-song,” it said. “Fans should expect to witness special interpretations of well-known hits alongside rarely performed B-sides and new, never-before-heard material.”

In addition to songs from albums including 1999Purple Rain, and Sign o’ the Times, the set-lists from his previous Piano & A Microphone shows have also featured covers by Joni Mitchelle, Civil Rights hero, actor and singer Paul Robeson and the incomparable; songs Prince has written for other acts including The Time, Sheila E. and Vanity 6; and a Thelonious Monk-style version of the theme to Batman.

Every ticket purchased to the concert includes a CD copy of Prince’s new album HITNRUN – Phase II, which will be distributed to ticket holders upon exiting The Fox.

Tickets go on sale March 30 at noon and will range from $100-$350.
