Lifestyles Report…Straight from the Internet

Many replied with what a good idea this was and I too agreed, and went right home and started on my  40 items.
It is not too late for you to get started. After all, it seems like the older we get the more stuff we accumulate like we are getting ready to audition for an episode of “Hoarders.” I could see this note being handed out at churches or at luncheon.
Here are some good places to donate gently used items. We all know the usual places: Goodwill, Salvation Army, The Red White and Blue, and Saint Vincent DePaul,  but here is another place that actually helps women who are trying to get a new start in their life—Dress for Success Pittsburgh. Your generous donations to Dress for Success Pittsburgh provide the means necessary to fund their Suiting Program, Career Development Workshops, Professional Women’s Group (PWG) and Elevate Program.
Let’s be honest, our closets are filled with clothes that we do not wear. When I bring home something new I try to remove an item from my closet and donate it or give it away. Frankly, when I’m buying something new I’m thinking what I can get rid of? If I can’t think of something I will wait to buy that new item.
Have you found that you frequently buy things that are very similar? The same color scheme and the same basic style. I frequently go shopping to remind myself of what I already have in the closet. If you are going to do a major purge it is better to have a friend come over and help you to purge. And, if possible, make sure it is a friend who does not wear the same size. She might want to start trying on your outfits and then when you see them on her you will want to keep them.  During this purge you should clear out the closet entirely and then try on each item. If the garment does not fit it goes to the donate pile.
Stop holding on to things waiting to lose weight. When you lose the weight then get something new for your new body. Forty days forty items. Go!
