A series of visually spectacular renderings of the proposed pedestrian bridge that would connect the Atlanta Falcons’ new Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the MARTA station across the street.
Released by the city of Atlanta, the proposed bridge would snake from the Vine City MARTA station over Northside Drive to the stadium across the street would help reduce the massive congestion of pedestrians and cars during Falcons home games.
The city is now accepting contract bids from companies to complete detailed engineering plans for the bridge, which is expected to break ground next summer and open in mid-2017, which is currently budgeted $8 million.

The bridge would also help beautify and provide a distinguished look to the Vine City and English Avenue corridor.

While many people do use the trains to get to the Falcons home game at the Georgia Dome, city officials are hoping the bridge will encourage many more commuters to use MARTA to get to the new Falcons Mercedes Benz Stadium, slated to be ready by the start of the 2017 season.
