ATLANTA — Terri J. Vaughn seized control of the premiere party of “Girlfriend Getaway 2” much the way she did in her role as the hilarious hostage victim in the smash TV One original incarnation, “Girlfriends Getaway,” a comedy that captured a quintet of women’s excursion to the south Caribbean islands for a vacation that went awry.
This time the four women — Vaughn, Garcelle Beauvais, Malinda Williams and Essence Atkins — are embroiled in chaotic hi-jinks when they take their vacation to San Juan, Puerto Rico for an exotic wedding.
Vaughn, who was also one of the producers of the film, was joined at the screening on the eve of its premiere on Aug. 29 by the writer and executive producer of “Girlfriends Getaway 2,” Cas Sigers-Beedles (above, right), who also wrote the first film. Also on hand were the likes of Lisa Wu (“Hollywood Divas”), Brad James (“Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse”), actor Tommy Ford (Harlem Nights, “Martin”) radio personality Egypt Sherrod and husband Mike Jackson, radio personality Ebony Steele, radio host Ramona DeBreaux, Tellallinc.com’s Kathy Patterson-Taylor (below, right) and others.
“Girlfriends Getaway 2” premieres on Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. EST on TV One.  Check out the photographic highlights from the soiree by flipping the e-page.
