NBA superstar Derrick Rose has been accused of by his ex-girlfriend of drugging and gang-raping her.
The Chicago Bulls point guard and former NBA MVP and his attorney have countered by calling the lawsuit against Rose “an attempt to shake down a highly respected and successful athlete.”
Lisa Cohen, Rose’s attorney, said the two were in a “non-exclusive, consensual sexual relationship for over two years,” tmz.com reports, and there were never any complaints until lawyers allegedly advised the woman to go after Rose’s money.
Moreover, Cohen claims this is the third attorney the plaintiff hired to sue Rose.
The anonymous woman, identified only as Jane Doe in the suit, says Rose and two of his buddies drugged her, then broke into her apartment and gang raped her while she was out of it. She says she waited 2 years to come forward because of embarrassment
Cohen adds: “We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated. This lawsuit is outrageous.”
