While Rachel Dolezal continues to shift through the debris from her imploding career after masquerading as a black woman in one part of the country, her brother Joshua Dolezal is facing something far more serious and sinister situation in another part of the nation.
The media learned Monday that Dolezal’s older brother, author Joshua Dolezal, 39, is awaiting trial on charges he sexually abused a black child. The Dolezal family have accused Rachel Dolezal of helping to orchestrate the accusations and arrest, which may explain why the parents blew the lid off their daughter’s fraudulent behavior as the wanna-be black leader of the Spokane, Wash., chapter of the NAACP.
Joshua Dolezal is contesting the charges and is free on $15,000 bail while awaiting trial, according to the Denver Post.
Joshua Dolezal’s troubles could explain at least one piece of the complicated puzzle behind this saga, the question of why Rachel Dolezal’s parents would expose their daughter to such public humiliation and perhaps legal jeopardy.
Rachel Dolezal is Joshua’s only biological sibling — Lawrence and Ruthanne Dolezal have four adopted children, some of whom are black. Joshua now faces four felony counts of sexual assault in Colorado, according to reports in the both the Denver Post and New York Daiy News.
According to a Clear Creek County affidavit in support of an arrest warrant obtained by the case of pedophilia perpetrated by Joshua Dolezal occurred more than a decade ago at his parent’s (Lawrence’s and Ruthanne’s) house in Colorado back around “in 2001 or 2002.” The alleged victim’s name, of course, was redacted, but it said the victim was “was 6 or 7 years old,” and Joshua Dolezal was “19 years older.”
The affidavit lists that Joshua Dolezal, on at least two occasions, allegedly forced the victim to perform oral sex on him. On “7 or 8″ other occasions, Dolezal also reportedly performed oral sex on the victim.
