2 Chainz is taking over Phillips Arena during Friday’s Atlanta Hawks game vs. the Miami Heat. Hence, the title of honorary CEO for a day.
2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, is going to perform multiple times — before, during and after the Hawks game.
According to reports, Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin and 2 Chainz have also partnered to promote his new rap label, The Real University at Philips Arena, when the Hawks face off against the Miami Heat on March 27. In the video, Chainz is featured as the CEO.
“Mr. Koonin left me in charge,” he said. “I don’t know if you know who I am, but I’m 2 Chainz. There are going to be some major changes around here, buddy. Truuuuue.”
The promotional videos feature “I’m Different” recording artist’s proposed changes, can be found on the Hawks’ Facebook page.
“As an Atlantan, I’m excited to collaborate with my beloved Hawks on March 27 as they face off against the Miami Heat,” 2 Chainz said in a statement. “The Hawks have been ‘TRU to Atlanta’ this season so it’s only right that we come out to support,” he continued.

2 Chainz has strong links to the ATL, the game of basketball and the Hawks. The North Clayton High School alum attended Alabama State University on a basketball scholarship. He also exemplified scholastic prowess, graduating with a 4.0.
