The Terrie Williams Agency Announces ‘Save HER-Save HIM’ Crowd Funding Campaign

(New York)  – The Terrie Williams Agency, a renowned public relations firm founded in 1988 known for representing celebrities, best-selling authors and Fortune 500 companies, announces a November 2014 Indiegogo crowd funding campaign to raise $20K to develop Phase One of the online project that includes building a new website for Save HER-Save HIM (SHSH). The project is aimed to help stop intimate partner violence and child abuse.
The informational portal will provide high visibility and steady opportunities to educate people on how to end the cycle of violence and begin the healing process. The website will contain written information, links to domestic violence organizations around the country and will feature interviews with survivors, reformed abusers, psychotherapists, physicians and a diverse group of wellness professionals.
According to a study funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, people who were abused or neglected as children have increased risk of major depression, which often begins in childhood and has lingering effects as they mature.
In 2012, mental health advocate Terrie M. Williams and domestic violence activist Madeline McCray co-founded
New Legacy Leaders, a wellness initiative with a mission to promote the vision beyond depression, obesity and poverty. SHSH was developed as part of the wellness initiative to highlight common links between early childhood abuse, intimate partner violence and chronic illnesses.
Madeline, whose mother died at age 39 of a heart attack, is a domestic violence survivor and healthy lifestyle activist. She and her son Terahshea McCray co-wrote “Healthy Women Rock: How to Live the Life You Desire & Deserve”; Terahshea is also the fitness and nutrition consultant for New Legacy Leaders.
Williams’ personal experience with depression motivated her to write the ground-breaking book “Black Pain: It Just Looks Like We’re Not Hurting.”  “Madeline developed the concept and does an amazing job of spearheading this project. I’m proud that through the new website, The Terrie Williams Agency will help educate people about abuse and its correlation to depression and other life threatening illnesses. Equally important, they will be able to find where to go for support.” said Williams.
McCray and Williams recently filmed guest speakers during SHSH events which were sponsored by Macy’s, Metro Plus Health and LaMaison d’Art. Money raised by the Indiegogo campaign will be used to pay for production costs–editing, filming additional interviews and building the website which is slated to launch in March 2015.
The Save HER-Save HIM campaign will go live on Tuesday, November 18th and run until December 22nd.
