Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) kicked off the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference today in National Harbor, Maryland.
Scott — who was one of the first to speak at the conference, taking place March 6-8 — revealed to the CPAC crowd he met his mentor at a Chick-fil-A. He said his mentor taught him “you can think your way out of poverty: If you really want to escape poverty it comes through the power of education.”
