Dawgs 7 Point Underdogs Against Florida

Photo_UGAs_Todd_Gurley.jpegOne of the SEC’s most storied and heated rivalries will resume on Saturday October 27 when the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators meet in Jacksonville. The latest sports betting sites are showing an increasing point spread in favor of Florida that has now expanded to 7 points.

The line for the game opened at 3.5 points, but has since increased on every betting website. Many have the Gators favored by 7 with others favoring Florida by 6.5 points in the game that has been called the Big Cocktail Party or the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

The Bulldogs are coming off of a less-than-impressive game against SEC East perennial cellar dweller Kentucky, winning last week by a score of 29-24. The Gators are in just the opposite situation. They won proably their most impressive game of the season last week, defeating the third ranked South Carolina Gamecocks 44-11.

Florida is currently ranked second in the BCS poll and Georgia is ranked number 10.

The Gators are 6-1 against the spread while the Bulldogs are 2-5. The over/under for the game is 49 points.

Las Vegas Sportsbook, MGM Mirage International, William Hill Betting and the Caesar’s/Harrah’s/Rio all have Florida favored by 6.5 points. Bovada and Bet Online have Florida favored by 7.

There have been no significant injuries to either team and, like every year, the game will be played at a neutral field. Some insiders are wondering why the line has doubled since it opened on Monday.
