Grammy Award-winning singer Stevie Wonder leads the group in singing the Civil Rights Movement Anthem “We Shall Overcome” to conclude the 90th Birthday celebration for Joseph E. Lowery at Symphony Hall on Oct. 9. Joining in are Evelyn Lowery (barely shown from left); the honoree; Al Sharpton; emcee and CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien; and President Barack Obama’s senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett. Jarrett presented a special video tribute from President Obama. The celebration also featured a special presentation from Delta Air Lines which named a jet after the Civil Rights icon that will fly the honoree and others to the dedication of the King Memorial this weekend.
