Atlanta Watershed customers get additional amnesty day today

Due to exceptional demand, the Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has extended the Amnesty program and added additional options for customers who need assistance with their water and sewer bills.

On Saturday, April 8, DWM representatives will be available between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 72 Marietta St. NW to help residential and commercial customers establish flexible payment plans to settle their accounts without facing penalties. Customers with balances exceeding $500 must pay 20 percent of their balance prior to entering into a flexible payment agreement. Also late fees and assessments will be waived.

“We truly do not want to disrupt water service to anyone who is facing financial hardship so we are providing an additional Saturday to allow those customers the opportunity to enter into reasonable payment arrangements,” says Deputy Commissioner Mohamed Balla.

In addition, our 311 center will be open to assist customers on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Customers may also call 311 today until 6 p.m.
