ATL millennials talk Trumpism, politics and innovation

How do Atlanta millennials – most of them young men and women of color, protect and navigate the new world we live in during this new age of “Trumpism?”  How do they break into the entertainment industry and “make it?”  How do they grow their business with the principles of inclusiveness and fight against sexism and racism?  How will the Muslim Ban negatively impact their friends, families, and Atlanta?   These questions are a small sampling of the discussion that will happen this Sunday from 6:30 – 9:00 PM EST at Dinner with Friends:  We the People ATL Edition Panel.

Atlanta game-hangers Jewle Burks,  Rodney SampsonLemuel Lerouch,  Avery Jackson,  Lil Duval, and Jacob York will offer thoughts, insights, lessons learned and perspective interacting panel participants.  As organizations that are committed to the community and culture, We the People ATL and Dinner with Friends joined forces to educate the Atlanta community on national concerns regarding the current political atmosphere.

“We the People ATL continues to build on the momentum from our initial march on the state capital, during Trump’s inauguration, said York.  “Influential millennials and senior figures in the community have joined forces to progress what we consider a more involved America, from all walks of life.”   “From our monthly political kickback “Politicking” to our ongoing community discussions around various topics – we will continue to make sure our voices are heard,” York concluded.

We the People: ATL is a movement where people of all political parties, races, sexes, and creeds, unite under core principles to educate the electorate on the importance of voting in local elections and to make clear that the only way to effect social change – regardless of the issue – is to vote locally.  Founded and led by entertainment mogul Jacob York, the movement organically came together because of the threat that a Trump presidency poses.  Inauguration Day was the moment We the People rose – in downtown Atlanta, planting a flag of opposition.  Since that launch, York, and the growing movement have been busy in the community, educating millennials on the importance of voting in local elections.  They spearheaded a new form of “meetups” called Politicking/A Political Kickback.

Dinner with Friends is a pop-up dinner concept show where a table of innovators are joined by a studio audience to discuss ideas, products, and solutions, all over a delicious meal.
