On Oct. 22, at the Monroeville Double Tree Hotel, the Honorable Ralph P. Watson, founder of Classic Events!, was elated to salute a distinguished group of legal professionals at the 2nd Annual Salute to Legal Excellence Dinner. This year’s docket of accomplished legal professionals included Lauren Catanzarite, Esq.; Patrick Connelly, Esq.; Jessel A. Costa, Esq.; the Honorable Kim M. Hoots; Elliot Howsie, Esq.; Ernest H. Sharif, Esq.; the Honorable David Spurgeon; Timothy Newton Vales, a paralegal; Frank Walker II, Esq.; the Honorable Louis Coles; and the Honorable Dr. Cyril Wecht, JD. The awards concluded with a posthumous salute to Wendell Freeland, Esq. Freeland was a highly respected civil rights advocate for the underserved and a relentless fighter for racial justice.
Presenters included family, friends and colleagues of the honorees. They were Brian Catanzarite, Esq.; Lauren Connelly; Senator Jay Costa, Esq.; Janice Glenn; Turahn Jenkins, Esq.; Aisha and EJ Sharif; Caryl Randolph; and Rosemary Crawford, Esq.
Guests enjoyed a great meal and great fellowship. Costa made brief remarks and commended Watson on the creation of Classic Events!, a public relations and marketing group supporting small businesses, and connecting entrepreneurs with civic leaders, community stakeholders and elected officials to accelerate their business growth and development.
