On Aug. 6, Sola Salon Studios and the multiple stylists that share that space celebrated their one year anniversary in East Liberty by hosting a unique open house. The public was invited to come in and visit the technicians and their guest vendors. There were clothing and jewery vendors as well as a woman that did henna designs on hands.
The story of Sola is an interesting one. The “condo concept” of individually owned salons in one building began with two gentlemen in the mid-west. The residents of Sola Salon Studios are given the freedom and benefits of salon ownership without the upfront costs and risks associated with opening a traditional salon. Each technician has their own space that they can freely decorate and they pay a weekly fee that includes utilities.
The East Liberty location has nine spaces accommodating barbers, hair stylists and estheticians. Manicures, pedicures and facials are also available.
Sola Salon Studios is located at 5921 Baum Blvd., in East Liberty.
