Tomorrow morning starting at 10 a.m., rain or shine, be sure to stop by Marquette Park (6743 S. Kedzie), for Convoy of Hope’s $1,000,000 charitable giveaway. The faith-based organization founded in 1994 is recognized as a Four Star Charity, by Charity Navigator, for the past 13 consecutive years.
Their mission is simple: to feed the world. As such, their arrival in Chicago is a huge welcome as they plan on giving away 70,000 lbs of free groceries, plus free goods and services, according to a press statement. Goods being given out include haircuts, health services, hot meals, job services, veteran services, family portraits and much more.
The charitable organization has also partnered with Plum Organics to distribute organic food created for babies, toddlers, and young school children. Hundreds of volunteers have signed up to participate, but there’s room for more, as thousands are expected to attend the event.
