Tuition-Free Education. . .

                       . . . for eligible CPS graduates

largerThe deadline for registration for City Colleges of Chicago’s fall semester is quickly approaching. All those interested in attending the 16-week courses must be registered by August 22, 2016.
Chicago City Colleges offers associate degrees and certification programs that focus on preparing students for in-demand industries as well as transferring to a four-year university.
Chicago Public School graduates who qualify and meet certain criteria may find themselves the proud recipient of a tuition free, associates degree with books included, through the Chicago Star Scholars program. But that’s not all.
Scholarships are also available for bachelor’s degree transfer opportunities at four-year colleges and universities as well – again, only for CPS graduates that meet the criteria.
And, there’s more. According to a press statement, by 2020, the city will need about 75,000 more health care practitioners, and more than one-third of those positions will only require an Associate’s degrees through the College to Careers program.
Also, demand in Chicago will require almost 18,000 newly educated registered nurses.  In transportation, the region will need 4,000 new truck drivers to fill the openings that will occur between now and 2020.
“This is a good opportunity to take advantage of these programs,” says a CPS administrator. For more information visit their website https://www.ccc.edu/programs/Pages/College-to-Careers.aspx
