The Back-To-School Jamboree takes place each year in an effort to provide thousands of children in need with a backpack full of school supplies, health screenings food and clothes to prepare for the upcoming school year. In addition there will also be computers available on a first come first serve basis. With the support of local media outlets and Premier Corporate Sponsors Luther and Susie Harris Foundation, Kanner and Pintaluga, Amerigroup, Walmart, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Wayfield Foods, 1 L.I.F.E. Foundation, and American Honda Finance Corporation, Hosea Helps continues help the community by empowering Atlanta’s youth, providing them with some of the tools they need to be successful in school and life.
The event will take place at Turner Field’s Blue Parking Lot, 755 Hank Aaron Dr, SE, Atlanta, GA 30315 on Saturday, July 23, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hosea Helps is also currently conducting interviews prior to the Jamboree date to promote the additional need for donations of backpacks, school supplies, and school readiness awareness among Atlanta children and families. The full needs list includes: book bags, glue sticks, rulers, calculators, scissors, packages of wide ruled notebook paper, packages of graph paper, spiral notebooks, 2-ringed binders, pocket folders, pencils, ink pens, notebooks, highlighters, packages of constructions paper, colored pencils, dictionaries, pencil boxes, craycon, large boxes of facial tissue, pencil sharpeners, 8 oz bottles of glue, pencil cap erasers, and scientific calculators.
