Donald Trump faced an embarrassing plagiarism scandal on July 19, 2016 that tarnished his wife Melania's prime-time speech to a Republican National Convention already roiled by an opening day rank-and-file revolt. It was a rough start to the four-day buildup to Trump's presidential nomination, one designed for maximum media exposure for the Republican standard bearer and his supporters. / AFP / ALEX WONG AND PAUL J. Last night, some would say that the Republican National Convention had many lowlights, including the fact that Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, apparently stole First Lady Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic convention speech.

One thing’s for sure, with every sour moment, Twitter has a way of brightening them up! Twitter quickly exploded after actor Jesse Williams created the hashtag #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes.

Jesse kicked things off by tweeting:

“I, am Malcolm X.” #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes

“Ain’t I a woman?” #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes #RNCinCLE

“I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.”#FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes

The actor jokingly used famous quotes from throughout history and credited Melania for saying it. #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes has been the number one trending topic since the convention ended on Monday
