Just hours after qualifying for the U.S. women’s gymnastics Olympic team last night, Gabby Douglas now has her won Barbie doll!
Mattel unveiled a “Shero” Barbie in her honor today, celebrating her groundbreaking efforts after she became the first woman of color to win the individual all-around competition at the 2012 Olympics. Douglas now joins Misty Copeland, Ava DuVernay and Zendaya in the line that focuses on female heroes who inspire girls by breaking boundaries.
“I’m so excited,” Douglas told PEOPLE. “My older sister and I used to play with Barbies and create these dramatic fantasy stories, so it’s such a huge honor.”
