ATLANTA — It was a weird, unusual and uncomfortable sight for Atlanta Hawks fans: Jeff Teague, the Atlanta Hawks’ All-Star point guard, is rotting on the bench at the end of the last two games as the Hawks get swept out of the playoffs for the second consecutive year by LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers.
In Teague’s place is the mercurial, up-and-coming, talented but often unpredictable back-up point guard Dennis Schoder. He is the one who ignites the offense and keeps the Hawks in the games to the end. This only fueled speculation that the Hawks –failing to even come close to dethroning LeBron James — are looking to trade Teague over the summer.
Further confirming the sentiments is the fact that Teague sold his stylish penthouse atop Terminus Building in Atlanta’s upscale Buckhead district after only one year of living there, according to property records.
The condo’s $2.18 million listing — 4,325 square feet, with a mind-bogglingly immense outdoor patio. From the grand salon, the “distinguished bar” and each of three luxury bedrooms, this place seems built to maximize views, which span from the treetops of verdant neighborhoods to downtown.
The condo also comes with a media room, private office and top-flight kitchen loaded with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances.
So, do you believe that Teague is officially gone? Is this a product of Teague wanting out or that the Hawks betting on the exciting but still maturing Schroder?
Talk among yourselves.
