The nation has always refused to celebrate black women. Yet, at the same time, white Americans always seem to have a problem when the sisters celebrate themselves.
You can set your watch to it. When “Black Girls Rock” airs on BET, someone from the melanin-free nation finds it their duty to cast aspersions and denigrate the gala and the people involved.
Yet another ill-informed, ignorant and racist white boy came out against “Black Girls Rock” extravaganza. Catfish host Nev Schulman randomly decided to send them some shade.
“Black girls rock….they also tend to Catfish a lot,” wrote Nev.
He later apologized after a herd of angry black folk stampeded his Twitter page. But by then it was too late:
After getting drenched from the torrential downpour of criticism, Schulman fumbled out a half-hearted apology:
Take a look at what many others had to say about Mr. Schulman’s imprudent and imbecilic statement:
@NevSchulman Are you sorry about the bullshit statement about black girls or sorry that people called you out? pic.twitter.com/yY4moBrFbk
