ATLANTA — The Georgia Aquarium opens a new exhibit Thursday that is going to punctuate their milestone celebration.
As part of the aquarium’s 10th anniversary celebration, the Georgia Aquarium is introducing a new sea lion exhibit
The sea lions emanate from California’s Marine Mammal Center, which put out a call for aid during a peculiar trend of a mass stranding of sea lions on beaches.
According to the center, hundreds of sea lions were found starving and abandoned on beaches, including pups abandoned by mothers venturing farther out to sea to forage for food.
Researchers and scientist partially attribute this trend to changes in the global climate.
