The first of its kind in Comed’s 130 year history; a new, 51,000 square feet, state-of-the-art training facility has opened in Bridgeport. The facility, built as part of a $2.6 billion investment brought by the 2012 Energy Infrastructure Modernization Act passed by the Illinois General Assembly to update Chicago’s regional electricity infrastructure.
Dignitaries from the mayor to Alderman Patrick Thompson (11th Ward), joined Comed’s CEO, Anne Pramaggiore, in welcoming the center to the community as it has committed to training up to 4,000 employees per year.
The stunning facility includes fully operable utility poles indoors as well as a 138,000 square feet, outdoor training facilities.
