Bill Cosby arrested for allegedly raping woman in 2004; Twitter reacts

An arrest warrant has been issued for legendary comedian Bill Cosby for allegedly drugging and raping former Temple staff member Andrea Constand at his Elkins Park, Pa. mansion in January 2004, sources told People magazine.
Cosby has been charged with aggravated indecent assault, a felony of the first degree.
Constand was not available for comment but the district attorney prosecuting the case said in a press conference that she fully intends to cooperate with the state and testify against Cosby.
“Obviously we appreciate the expression of confidence in her,” says Dolores Troiani of her client, Constand, 42, who is now a massage therapist in Ontario, Canada. “We’ll have to see what happens. We hope justice will be done. We will cooperate fully.”
Constand was operations manager of the Temple University women’s basketball team when she first met Cosby in November 2002, about a year after she started working there, according to the suit she filed against him after Castor decided not to prosecute him.
Cosby, who is now 78, “fostered a friendship” with her, “so that over time she considered him to be both her friend, albeit older, and a mentor,” the suit said.
According to the suit, she socialized with him over the next year, discussing Temple women’s basketball with him, talking with him by telephone and “being his guest at dinner parties and other events hosted by him at his Cheltenham home and other locations,” the suit said.
Eventually, she found herself at his home alone, the suit states, where Cosby allegedly gave her blue pills to help her with a headache she had. Constand testified that she soon lost most consciousness, barely aware that Cosby carried to a sofa where he began to fondle her and eventually sexually assaulted her
More than 50 women have accused Cosby of drugging and/or sexually assaulting them in one manner or another over the past year.
This arrest warrant also comes on the heels of Cosby filing a lawsuit against former supermodel Beverly Johnson, accusing the woman of using Cosby to resurrect her moribund career.
