There are no jokes that Steve Harvey could unfurl from out of his sizable shiny skull that could help soften the catastrophic mess he made when he read the wrong name for the Miss Universe winner on international TV.
Harvey said that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, had won the Miss Universe contest, when it was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who had actually won.
When he realized his mistake, Harvey blubbered and fumbled on about it being his fault, but social media was having none of his excuses.
Twitter dragged Harvey like beer cans on the back of a wedding limousine. But the biggest, most devastating blast came from former Miss Universe owner Donald Trump. As the Republican presidential front-runner by a wide margin, it made his words more piercing, penetrating and damaging to the Steve Harvey brand:
Trump couldn’t wait to hop onto his Twitter page to highlight the radio show host’s incompetence and blunder and claimed that the Harvey debacle would never would have happened if he was still the owner of the pageant.
