Georgia has many movies, TV projects coming out next year

Atlanta is cementing its well-deserved reputation as one of the epicenters of American film and television. There are 21 projects currently underway in the Peach State with six more in pre-production.
Additionally, metro Atlanta and Georgia is about to release a slew of movies that were made in our backyards, including two by rapper-turned-filmmaker Ice Cube.

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are at it again as they team to bring down a Miami drug dealer in “Ride Along 2,” opening in theaters on January 15, 2016.
Chloe Grace Moretz stars in the film adaptation of Rick Yancey’s YA distopian novel “The 5th Wave.” The movie opens January 15, 2016.
Filmed in Atlanta and Tybee Island, “Dirty Grandpa” opens in theaters January 22, 2016. The movie stars Zac Efron and Robert De Niro with Juliann Hough and Aubrey Plaza. Tagline: “Right before his wedding, an uptight guy is tricked into driving his grandfather, a perverted former Army general, to Florida for spring break.”
John Hillcoat (“The Road,” “Lawless”) directs “Triple 9”, opening in theaters February 26, 2016. To call it a movie about robbing banks is an understatement…The cast includes Kate Winslet, Gal Godot, Norman Reedus, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul and Casey Affleck.
Melissa McCarthy stars as Michelle Darnell in “The Boss,” headed to theaters April 8, 2016. Darnell is a titan of industry who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget. Kristen Bell and Peter Dinklage also star.
BARBERSHOP: THE NEXT CUT – in theaters April 15, 2016. Everybody’s back for a fresh cut. Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Eve, JB Smoove, Lamorne Morris, Sean Patrick Thomas, Tyga, Deon Cole, Common and Nicki Minaj star in
Opening in theaters May 20, 2016, “The Nice Guys” stars Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling and is rated R. Tagline: “A private eye investigates the apparent suicide of a fading porn star in 1970s Los Angeles and uncovers a conspiracy.” Journeyman screenwriter Shane Black (all the way back to “Lethal Weapon”) directs the film. His other directing credits include “Iron Man 3.”
