State Rep. Ed Gainey appropriately set the tone for the fourth annual Anita Mayo & Kids Scholarship Fundraiser, held Oct. 11.
The event, which took place at No. 1 Racquet Club, in Monroeville, was founded by Constance Anderson Collier in 2012, in honor of her daughter, Anita Patrice Mayo, who died tragically at her Central Pa. residence in October 2003. In addition to Mayo, Collier’s five grandchildren also perished, along with the children’s father, Kevin Brechenbiel. Authorities ruled that the deaths were caused by carbon monoxide leaks.
