Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton got more than she bargained for when she visited Clark Atlanta University to launch the “African-Americans For Hillary” grassroots campaign. And it was all good until a couple of protestors crashed her speech by evoking Black Lives Matter and singing Janelle Monae’s “Hell You Talmbout.”
Clinton was just outlining her criminal justice reform ideas for the African American community approximately a dozen #AUCShutItDown protesters, seated near the stage, interrupted Clinton’s speech with chants of “Black Lives Matter.” Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Rep. John Lewis did their best to try to qualm the disruption so that Clinton could continue. Soon, the masses joined in.
“I’m sorry they aren’t listening, because a lot of what they want, I’m offering,” Clinton told the crowd. The protesters were situated in front of the crowd, just a few feet from the podium. They sang and chanted for several minutes. Mrs. Clinton paused her speech for about thirty seconds, then talked over the noise from the protesters.

Afterward, the group called AUCShutItDown debated with R&B singer Usher Raymond on the matter.
