It is the opinion of some political pundits and many others within the electorate that Dr. Ben Carson is shamelessly pandering and ingratiating himself with a certain conservative voting block. First example came with the inflammatory statements about is objections against any Muslim becoming president of the United States.

Now, the Republican presidential candidate does it again when he bequeaths his blessing to people flying the Confederate flag, particularly if it is on private property, which is the case with NASCAR racing.

You recall how NASCAR came under fire as fans continued to fly the flag in the wake of a racially motivated killing in Charleston, S.C., when nine black churchgoers were murdered by white psychopath Dylann Roof.

Subsequently, Carson has garnered the support of folks like NASCAR legend Richard Petty, who, by the way, called the debate over the flag, which is considered a symbol of southern pride by many who display it at racing events, “a passing fancy.”

Incredulously, Carson likened the Confederate battle flag to the Swastikas, the infamous symbol used by the German Third Reich and Adolf Hitler.

“Swastikas are a symbol of hate for some people, too. And yet they still exist in museums and places like that,” Carson told the Associated Press. “If it’s a majority of people in that area who want it to fly, I certainly wouldn’t take it down.”

Petty, who retired from racing in 1992, gave Carson his informal endorsement and called him “very humane.” Notice, however, the word “informal” as opposed to “formal” endorsement.
