'Real Housewives of Atlanta' brings on yet another new cast member

IMG_7926
Rumors began swirling amid the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” that it had recruited additional cast members to try to fill the crater-sized void left by actress Nene Leakes.
While Leakes continue to pursue opportunities on Broadway – she also guested on Kevin Hart’s highly-successful “Real Husbands of Hollywood” – Bravo producers have incorporated several “friends” of the full time cast members to be a more permanent part of the show.

One is Porsha Williams’ BFF Shamea Morton. With Leakes’ exit, it’ll be interesting to see if Williams can earn her Georgia Peach back as a regular cast member, or if that role will go to Sheree Whitfield and/or actress-producer-director Kim Fields (“Facts of Life,” “Living Single”).
Who is this Shamea Morton? Flip the e-page to find out:

Shamea Morton (on the right) is a former cheerleader for both the Atlanta Falcons & Atlanta Hawks, who made a startling appearance during Williams’s live video from their “girl’s trip.”
Morton has been seen out with the cast for the past several months, and was present with Williams during the taping of the high-profile Kenya Moore hair launch.
This is not Morton’s debut on RHOA, however. She once appeared on season 5 and refers to herself via social media as an ‘actress, singer, dancer, host & on air personality.’
Morton is but the latest in a line of “friends” who get some deserved or undeserved shine (depending on your viewpoint) by being close acquaintances of the Big Six. Other part-timers or guests of the show include Cynthia Bailey’s sister Mallorie Bailey-Massey, Kandi Burruss’ BFF, Carmon Cambrice and Marlo Hampton, an appropriate buddy and supporter of Kenya Moore.
The six other main cast members still consist of Phaedra Parks, Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and returnee Sheree Whitfield.
