Millions of urban wrestling fans were shocked to wake up this morning and find out that one of their favorite stars is a rabid roaring racist.
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan was fired by the WWE after he tore off a torrent of a racial rant because his daughter was dating a black man.
WWE fired Hogan after learning of a transcript of comments made on his sex tape. Hogan is currently in the middle of a lawsuit over the tape where he uses the epithet liberally. The racial remarks were expected to come once the trial begins later this year. He reportedly used the derogatory term at the end of the sex tape, tmz.com reported.
“I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f**king n**gers,” Hogan said.
And it gets worse. Hogan goes on to say, “I mean I’d rather if she was going to f**k some n**ger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot tall n**ger worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player.”
Of course, Hogan, whose birth name is Terry Bollea, was remorseful after the fact and tried to repent to his legion of fans, particularly the thongs of African American ones:
“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it.”
The WWE was unmoved by Hogan’s mea cupla and released a statement Friday morning saying, “WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.”
Hogan, however, continues to try to play the janitor and mop up after his mess, adding: “I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs. It is not who I am. I continue to work every day to improve as a person, and this matter is an important learning experience for me in that regard.”
He adds, that language “is inconsistent with my own beliefs.”
On the sex tape, Hogan is discussing his daughter Brooke’s music career. He repeatedly used the n-word while talking about an African-American guy she was dating.
Hogan’s attorney tried to come back and claim that Hulk was not terminated, and actually resigned from the WWE late Thursday night.
