Georgia had the No. 9 most car thefts and recoveries in 2014, according to an industry analysis.
LockJack Corp. said law enforcement officials recovered more than $83.5 million in stolen vehicles equipped with the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System in 2014. The average value of vehicles recovered by law enforcement is more than $10,000.
Hybrids have increased in popularity and therefore have become a greater target for car thieves. There was an 88 percent increase in hybrids stolen and recovered from 2013 to 2014.
