A group called #Itsbiggerthanyou assembled at Jonquil Park in Smyrna on Sunday afternoon as part of a national movement to support the beleaguered Maryland city. Protests rallies were also held in places as close as North Carolina and as far away as Los Angeles.

#Rise Up Georgia also gathered over the weekend as they held a memorial service in Atlanta to keep the shooting deaths of unarmed black men in Atlanta.
At least six members of law enforcement in Cobb County were attempting to arrest Thomas, 24, March 24 at the Cumberland Parkway Goodyear because the young man has an outstanding warrant in nearby Clayton County. Police told the media that Thomas tried to run over officers in a customer’s Maserati, but attorneys for the surviving family, Davis Bozeman Law, have not only contested the police report, but some believe the public pressure led to Cobb County Police handing over the investigation to.
The group of protesters walked from Jonquil Park to Cumberland Mall late Sunday afternoon.
Take a look at some of the photographic highlights from the demonstrations.
