Dame Dash kicked up a lot of dust during his interview with the famed New York “The Breakfast Club” on Friday.
The former Roc-a-fella label co-owner was alternately informative, combative, defensive and cocky as he discussed a wide range of topics such as:
- Dash says says that people who work 9-to-5 jobs have no pride in themselves;
- that calling another man your boss is like calling them your “daddy”;
- that he hates it when folks keep asking him about Jay Z;
- that he didn’t want Hov to reply to Nas’s “SuperUgly” which he believes began the irreversible descent and demise of Roc A Fella;
- says he never worked for, nor got paid from, Def Jam;
- and that he has personal beef Spike Lee for dissing him.
Here are 10 things we learned about Dame Dash after his explosive interview with Envy and Charlamagne the God on the “The Breakfast Club.”
Dame Dash quickly got angry when Envy asked him how how he met former Roc-a-fella partner Jay Z and started an argument.
Dash caused an electric charged when he said “Calling another man boss is calling another man Daddy,” and says he never had a boss. He said he doesn’t understand that when you can work for yourself.
Dash is still feeling some kind of way because of the “Why do you keep asking about Jay Z” moment, Dame went on a tangent about keeping more women around because they are more trustworthy.
Dash said that punching a man in the face for owing him money was marketing, so no one else would dare owe him money. He also says he doesn’t do that anymore.
“Men don’t listen to social media.” Dash said he has always been honorable in business.
Don’t call Dame Dash a mogul, he prefers to be called a “tycoon.”
Dash got hot when Charlamagne said he used to get paid off of Def Jam. According to Dash, Roc-a-fella and Def Jam were partners, so he never worked for Def Jam.
Dash called Envy selfish because he calls another man a boss. Also, Dame’s son Boogie has his own restaurant and sells cookies, because he refuses to have a boss.
Dame Dash said Spike Lee refuses to take a meeting with him because he said he’s “arrogant.” Dash revealed that the spurn hurt his feelings because he was just hitting Lee up for advice and help.
Dame is working with Kanye West again, but the partnership keeps him awake because he trusts no man.
