ATLANTA — Kevin Costner and Anthony Mackie were huddled up on the red carpet premiere of Black or White at the AMC Atlantic Station when the Academy Award-winning actor told Mackie, “you are gold.”
So were both of their performances in the critically acclaimed film Black or White, the story of white paternal grandfather staking claim to a mixed-race granddaughter against the wishes of the girl’s maternal grandmother.
Also present at the film screening were the likes of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Phaedra Parks, Demetria McKinney and Claudia Jordan, Towanda Braxton, Carolyn Young, the wife of former U.S. Ambassador Andrew Young and others.
