Stuart Scott was a beloved figure above and beyond what most casual ESPN and “Sportscenter” observers ever imagined. He was a pioneer who helped usher in a new era of sports journalism while simultaneously retaining his humanity and humbleness that endeared himself to his contemporaries and even adversaries over the years.
Scott lost his battle with cancer after twice defeating the devastating medical malady and his colleagues and admirers poured the contents of their souls onto social media to pay homage to an outstanding reporter.
