Richard Thompson, 32, allegedly brought 50 grams of marijuana to his court date. He was suspected on drug charges

Can we be blunt? When you have been summoned to appear in court on drug charges, it would probably be a good idea to leave your weed at home.
Unfortunately, according to police for the New Jersey Port Authority, Richard Thompson didn’t think of that and brought his marijuana to court with him.
Investigators allege the Stanford, Connecticut resident had 50 grams of pot in his backpack when he showed up at the Fort Lee Municipal Court Thursday morning.
Thompson, 32, was arrested last May at the George Washington Bridge because it was suspected he was driving under the influence, and with a suspended license, AND with drugs in his car, according to NJ.com.
He came to court to answer those charges, and when he went through the normal security screenings and got searched, officials allegedly found the marijuana; along with two packages of rolling papers and an unrolled cigar wrapper commonly re-used to smoke marijuana, Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo told NorthJersey.com.
He was then arrested on marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges by officer Steve Pisciott, who, ironically, was the same officer who had arrested him last May, according to the Cliffview Pilot.
Can you guess how dumb he must feel right now? But then again we are talking about a man who brought his drugs to court with him so…
