Community Awareness Day, Back to School Block Festival in Strip District

B. Marshall Productions, in association with STV-Pittsburgh, presented The Community Awareness Day, Back-To-School Block Festival on Labor Day, Sept. 1.
The event, which was free to all, was held on Smallman Street, between 16th and 18th Avenues, in the Strip District.

Performances included Jasiri X, Luc & Tyhir Frost, R&B soul dance troops Pittsburgh Black- Out, Royal Divas, Damage, Pretty Young Ladies, GlamGirls, and others. They received support from Big Whip Ryders SUV Club, and appearances were made by state Rep. Ed Gainey and Pittsburgh City Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith. Food for kids, a kid fun zone, face painting, free hotdogs and live entertainment was all provided to the youth.
