Jailed Gucci Mane Gets 3 More Years in Prison for Felony Assault

Already imprisoned in Atlanta for more than three years on a separate federal gun charge, Gucci Mane was just slapped with three additional years in prison after being found guilty of felony assault.
A Fulton County (Ga.) judge agreed with county District Attorney Paul Howard after the rapper, born Raddric Davis, assaulted a fan with a campagne bottle at Harlem Nights in 2013.
Gucci pleaded guilty to aggravated assault Monday for hitting a fan with a champagne bottle after the man asked to take a picture.  The violent act caused a deep laceration to the victim’s forehead in the 2013 incident in the VIP section of Atlanta’s Harlem Nights club.
District Attorney Paul Howard released the following statement about the incident,
“Rather than accommodating the admiring fan, Davis, for no explicable reason, instead, hit the victim over the head with a vodka bottle and then hurriedly left the club.”
Gucci Mane is already serving a 39-month sentence for federal gun charges.  He will serve both terms concurrently.
There is a sliver of good news for the oft-troubled label boss who allegedly has mental issues. Earlier this month, a judge knocked off nearly one year from Gucci’s gun possession sentence since he’d been behind bars since his arrest last September.
Three years is a lifetime in the music industry where fickle fans notoriously switch loyalties quickly and often. Do you believe Gucci will be able to resurrect his career when he gets out?
