We are excited to be starting our fourth year of “Take Charge of Your Health Today. Be Informed. Be Involved.” These pages focus on health disparities and provide readers with health information, resources and research studies in the Pittsburgh region. We want these pages to provide valuable information on subjects that may affect you, your family or friends. We have many great topics lined up this year, including healthy habits in children, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender health and environmental health.
The monthly series is a partnership of the New Pittsburgh Courier, Community PARTners (a core service of the University of Pittsburgh’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute—CTSI), the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, and the UPMC Center for Engagement and Inclusion. All articles can be accessed online at the New Pittsburgh Courier website.
This month, the “Take Charge of Your Health Today” page focuses on stress and health. Jennifer Jones, MPH, community engagement coordinator at CTSI, and Esther L. Bush, president and CEO of the Urban League, sat down to talk about the importance of recognizing and dealing with stress.
