Celebrities converged onto social media to pay homage to Jackie Robinson West (Illinois) who defied the odds and performed the improbable and defeated Nevada to win the U.S. Little League Baseball World Series title, 7-5 in Pennsylvania.
The team, representing the state of Illinois, now advance to meet South Korea on Sunday for the right to take home the overall Little League World Series title.
Many celebrities from Chicago and the state of Illinois were the first to offer up congratulations to the all-black teen team that could become the first African American team to take home the LLWS championship trophy.
